Greetings Fellow Spartan Fans,
I trust that this email finds all of you enjoying this great weather and getting a chance to chase the little white ball around your favorite courses!
Like many of you, I am suffering from two seasons…..Allergies (itchy eyes) and “No-ball” season. (That’s the season between the end of Spartan Basketball and the beginning of Spartan Football) At least our twice-monthly Spartan Coaches Club meetings are helping me through the void. Come join us if you are “suffering” also.
It has been good to see so many of you joining in our monthly activities and also enjoying Spartan Night on the Square. Don’t forget our Golf Outing on May 30th. Details about all of the activities are available at www.villagesspartans.org.
One other purpose of this note is to put out the HELP WANTED sign!!!!
As all of you know, since the inception of the Club, we have made an effort to develop our scholarship fund to help a student in financial need attend MSU and last year we granted our first scholarship. The recipient has been truly appreciative of our help. For the past two years, the primary effort to raise the scholarship funds has been our Annual Auction. The Auction Committee has been under the leadership of Bob Coulter since its inception and he has done a great job. Bob has informed us that he wishes to step aside as Chairperson but will to continue to assist the Committee. Therefore we are in need of someone to lead the effort to raise our scholarship funds. We also need more committee members. While the Auction has been fun and a success, the Committee and new Chairperson will be free to look at all options, including the Auction, to raise our scholarship funds.
If you are interested and willing to be part of this important effort, I would like to hear from you as soon as possible. I can be reached at either villagesspartans@gmail.com or jpc318@gmail.com
Hit them straight but not often……..
John Calandro
President, MSUAC of The Villages
